　（質問） 2番目の文章で、（more of）は、本来（more of whom)であり、young people と I'd like の間に入っている whom(目的格）が省略されている、と解釈するのは正しいでしょうか。

　ご質問を含む、後半の英文は、おっしゃる通り、These are the kind of young people (more of whom) I'd like to see ... という風に、more of whom の whom が省略されたために、more of が I'd like to see の目的語として、後ろに回ったものです。ただ、I'd like to see more of my best friend, Ted. の more of は、数ではなく、親密度を言っているので、数を言っている原文における more of whom とは、微妙に異なります。

　zoro さんの当時の英文は、現在の英文と比べると、かなりミスが目立ちますので、毎回、進歩しているように、感じられます。この調子で、書き続けることで、進歩は明らかになっていくものと、考えられます。論説の構成は、昔から、「起・承・転・結」、すなわち、「書き出し、用例、展開、結論」の４つの要素から成る、と言われています。大体、zoro さんが、実践している書き方になるわけです。

　歌のタイトルに、Jesus loves you (Not As Much As I Do) というものがあったのですが、Not As Much As I Do の省略無しの文は、He does not love as much as I do. となりますでしょうか。

　same の前に the がつくのですが、これは、なぜですか。same が基本的に the がつく場合が多いですが、この場合、なぜ、the が必要なのか、ご教示いただければ、と思います。

　ご質問の英文の意味は、「私自身の文化は、日本文化と異なりますが、実は、人は、どこにいる場合でも、基本的には、同一なのです」ということで、the same ~ とは、元々、「同一無二の、この世に二つとない」（全く同じの）という意味なので、いつも the same という風に、定冠詞の the が付くのです。そのほかに、　the が着く形容詞は、the only ~ 「たった一つの ~」、the very ~ 「正に、その ~」、the first ~ 「第一の、最初の ~」、be in the wrong 「間違っている」、the right thing 「正しいこと」、on the other hand 「他方では」などのように、他の何者でもない、ということを強調する言葉には、the が付きます。

　この英文は、SVOO の文として、him と this shirt のように、名詞が連続していることも理解できるし、訳すことも出来ます。しかし、

2. I was hoping to keep my life a secret in high school.

では、my life と a secret と、「名詞」が連続してるのにもかかわらず、上手く訳せません。意味もよくわかりません。もし、この文章に、a secret が入ってなければ、(I was hoping to keep my life in high school. だったら)「私は、高校では、私の人生をキープしていたかった」(文の意味としてはおかしくなりますが)と綺麗に訳せます。SVOO ではない形で、かつ名詞が連続しているのに、どうして綺麗に訳せるのでしょうか。そしてその場合、何という名前の文法を使っているか、教えて頂いてもよろしいでしょうか。

　質問が分かりにくくなってしまい、すみません。

2. の意味は、「私は、高校時代には、私の生活を、秘密にしておくことを、希望していた」ということで、keep(V) [my life](O) [a secret](C) [in high school](M) という「S V O C」から成る「第５文型」の節を目的語にした文になります。

　それぞれ、別な構造の文として、理解することが大事です。

この訳からVはgainedだとわかりますが、訳を読んでもselectedの部分が腑に落ちません。何かが省略されていますか？

The five selected countries　の表現のほうがしっくりくるのですが、これらに違いがあるのでしょうか？
